Pelletizing and extrusion
Pelletizing and extrusion is used for production of animal feeds including pet food and aqua feeds. A very large part of the production is made by preparing batches in a hopper scale, typical from 1,000 – 10.000 kg followed by grinding and mixing. In the pelletizing and extrusion process, steam and liquids are added and to achieve the desired quality, weighing is required. After pelletizing and extrusion, the product is transferred to the drying/cooling plant and in some productions also liquid coating before the final product is stored in bins. Jesma manufactures weighing solutions for all steps in the production process, from raw material intake to final product bulk loading and bagging-off.
Brewery and distillery
From small home breweries to micro and large breweries and distilleries measuring ingredients is key.
Measuring ingredients and additives properly is necessary to ensure correct proportions in a recipe, but also necessary for the brewer to be able to recreate the recipe later.
As a bonus, measuring ingredients during the brewing process can help minimize waste, thus costs, by ensuring the right amount is used.
Different types of scales and weighing equipment are used:
- Weighing of raw materials and additives (Malt, barley, grains, concentrates…)
- Process weighing equipment, during mixing and blending.
- Checkweighers for control of batches.
If the product is sold commercially, then it is important to remember using trade-approved equipment.
Animal feed
Precision nutrition – accurate weighing and dosing of animal feed and feed ingredients.
Animal feeds consist of agricultural raw material ingredients combined into a type of feed such as pellets, and crumbles, among others.
Precise and fast weighing of raw materials, as well as regulatory compliance in the production line is important for animal feed and pet food, Jesma’s weighing systems are reliable and built to keep up with very high accuracies.
Among raw materials in Animal feed, that Jesma handles:
- Soybean-, fish-, bone- and other meal types
- Premixes- and concentrates
- Grains
Grain and cerealia
Grain and cereal handling facilities are built around grain bins where the product is received, handled, stored, processed and shipped and includes products like corn, wheat, barley, rice, soya beans and other similar agricultural raw materials.
Accurate measuring of grains, seeds, crops, and cereals:
- Transport/weighing on belts
- Loading
- Storage facility
