Wood- Chips and Pellets
Wood pellets are typically produced from saw dust, which is ground, dried and pelletized into sizes of ø6 to 10 mm. Wood chips are typically made of twigs around 5-50 mm in length, mixed together with smaller parts.
Whether in the production of wood chips, pellets or both, Jesma manufactures a variety of belt weighing solutions, with capacities up to 2,000 tons/hour.
Waste Material
Organic waste material, from households or production trimmings, such as animal waste, sugar cane waste, paper, etc., is a valuable resource that can be turned into compost to grow crops, organic fertilizers or an energy source.
Weigh data plays an important role in all waste management and recycling industries and Jesma has several references in relation to weighing and monitoring inputs and outputs from recycling plants.
Heat and Power Plants
Combined heat and power plants (CHP) based on biomass combustion / gasification uses renewable energy sources such as wood (See above) and sawdust and convert the feed stock to generate heat, electricity, and/or biofuels.
Managing the process is important at a CHP as faulty measured biomass can have a cascading impact on other areas of the process, and lead to less than desireable outcomes. To utilize the biomass optimally and to live up to quality requirements implementing a weigher can help secure the required accuracy in the process. A Weigher can be used to:
- Monitor and measure incoming material.
- Optimize utilization of biomass.
- Provide extra measure of control for both process and end result.
